PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD
The monthly meeting of the Portobello Road Beard was held on the 30th ult , the members present being Measis J. Dicki>on (chairman), Macandrew, Fulton, Hellyer, Seaton, and M'Cartiiey. The Roads Department wrote that £200 had been granted for the Beach" roads. — Repolved that each subdivision receive lOOyda of metal, and that the balance of the grant be spent in improving the Beach road; also, that the members of the board m«et at Raynbird's Point on Wednesday, 4th, at 2 o'cJock to see what could be done in cutting off the point. Sergea,nt-major Towler reported that a resident of Grant's Braes had u°ed a motor car on the Beach road, driving m a v«ry reckle&s manner, taking no notice of horses that wore passing at the time. — Resolved th-at as this waa the second time the b->a.rd hsd had to caution the tame individual, he wou'd be prosecuted if he persisted in running his car
