THE GAELIC CLASS.
A successful social was given by the Gaelio Class at the Oddfellows' Hmll in Stuart street on Friday. 29th inst. The chief (Mr Dugald M'Pherson) presided, and with him on the platform were Professor W«tt, D.D.. Dr Gordon Macdonald, and the Bey. D. Mac* lennan, M.A. The Chairman pointed out that it was the fourth social- and the third session, and said he was glad to see so many present.
The Bey. D. Maclennan and' Dr Watt gave brief addresses.
During the evening a reading in Gaelio mas rendered by Mr Clark, the oldest pupil, and a Gaelic recitation by Master Jan Murray, the youngest. Mrs Maclennan played a selection of Highland music, and Masters Don and Colin Mackenzie danced a Highland fling in costume. The social proved most enjoyable to all concerned.
Upwards of £600 ie standing to the credit of the New Zealand Soldiers' Graves Fund in the National Bank of New Zealand, in addition to which £100 held by the Guild of Loyal Women of South Africa,
