The Naturalist.
TO THE EDITOE,

Theodore Wood, giving a description of the weasel, which description I beg to point out is, strictly speaking, misleading. Tha animal denoribed by the rev. gentleman is the stoat of Britain, or the ermine of more northern latitudes. The weasel is rather larger than the stoat, and is grey in colour, with; black and white stripes ox streaks from the corners <<i the mouth in a backward direction. I have often seen both the little animals :n Britain, and I have also seen them ia New Zealand. — I am, etc., «t .YVftimumU; December 8t
