THE BANK-TO-BANK CLAUSE.
WESTPORT, November 18. At the Westport Coal Company's collieries some friction has been caused by tho coming into force of the bank-to-bank clause. The company alleges that the present agreement is in accord with tha clause, but the miners interpret it differently, and commenced work on Saturday under their interpretation, which, it to stated, means a difference of 40 minute* travelling time daily. The minors declined to consider anything in the- nature of » compromise. It is probable that the Arbif tration Court will be asked to conside/ the difficulty.
One-third of those stricken with insanitf, recover.
