girl inmate to the Te Oranga Home authorities, came before the Board of Trustees again at a meeting held to-day. The Chairman (Mr H. B. Sorensen) resigned his poei1 tion for the reason that the staff would not obey his instructions, and the resignation was accepted. A notice of motion that the services of the matron and sub-matron should be dispensed with was held over for consideration at a special meeting. The matron, in a letter to the board, expressed regret at not being able, for conscientious reasons, to carry out the chairman's instructions to hand the girl over.
