GORE STOCK SALES. (From Our Own Correspondent)
GORE, November 19. There was a large attendance at to-day's Block sale, when about 700 sheep were offered, and every line sold. In consequence" of the lalo rain, which has brought the feed away, farmers were- much keener to buy, and the prices realised were slightly bettor than at last fiale. Fat wethers sold at from 23s 8d to 24s 6d; hoggets, 14s 9d, 16s lOd, and 18s. There w*s a large, yarding of cattle, but, with the exoeption of fats, etJeg were hard to effect. Fat bullocks and heifers were in great demand, good bullocks bringing from £& to _8 15s, und cows 1 and heifers from £4 10s to £8. Three-year-old steers sold at up to £4 Sa ; yearlirgs, up to £1 11s.

CHRISTCHURCH, November 19. The grain market is exceptionally quiet, and, though some wheat is offering, merchants _re not anxious to make purchases, and, if anything, the price has declined. The only cotice_t>le change is in tlie potato market, which h*« fallen fully 10s per ton at country stations.
