Fat Sheep. — The yarding to-day numbered 1890 head, the quality in a number of cases being only medium. Prices at the commencement of the sale were easier than those of l?st week, but after the first two sales prices rose to the extent of 2s per head. The demand for unfinished sorts was not so good as of late. Best wethers, 24s to 265; extra, 30s; medium. 22s to 235; inferior, 19s to 21s; best ewes, 233 to 26s 9d; extra, 31 6 9d; medium, 18s to 21s; inferior, 16s to 18s. Dalgely and Co. Rabbitskins. — Owing to the holiday no sales were held this week. The next sales take place on Monday next, 18th inst. Quotations: First winter does, 22d to 28|d; second winter does, 1865 to 32d; outgoing winter does. 15d to 16d; spring does, 10a to lid; first winter bucks, 17d to 18d; second winter bucks, 15d to 17d; outgoing winter bucks, 13d to 15d; spring bueka, lid to 13d; winter blacks, 90d to 23d; outgoing winter blacks, 15d to 183; spring blacks, lOd to 13d. Sheepskins. — Fair-sized catalogues were submitted at the sales held on Tuesday, 12th inst. Competition being fair from the usual buyers, the catlogues were cleared at prices about on a par with last weelrs rates. Quotations: Halfbred, BJd to 9§d; fiog crossbred, 7jd to Bjd; crossbred, 6Jd to 7Jd ; merino, light, BJd to BJd ; merino, ordinary, 7Jd to Bid; helfbred, dead, 7Jd to 7Jd; crossbred, dead, 5Jd to 6Jd; merino* dead, 6Jd to 7Jd.
Hides. — The fortnightly sales take place tomorrow.
Tallow and Fat. — There is good inquiry for all coming forward: — Prime mutton tallow, 24s to 28s; medium, 21s to 23* ; mixed, 16s to 21s; best rough fat, 16s to 18s; medium, 14s to 16s; inferior, 12s to 14s per cwt.
Grain. — Oats: There is no change to reporf in this market either in value or demand. The principal business passing is in ■small lines for local feed purposes, but at the high figures ruling salee are slow. Quotations: Prime milling, to 4s; good to best feed, 3* lOd to 8s lid; inferior and medium, 3e 8d to 3s 9d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheait: The market is quiet, millers not being keen operators at late quotations. Holders, however, are firm, with the result that few ssap«l p« are being effected. Quotations: Prime milling, 6s to 6s 2d ; medium milling (as fowl wheait), 59 lOd to 6s; broken and damaged, 5s 3d to 5s 9d per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. — Exceptionally heavy arrivals have resti'ted in a glut in this market, and, as the shipping inquiry Ha-s fallen oft 1 , sales are very difficult to effect even at much, reduced prices. Quotations: Prime Derwenta and Up-to-Dates, £3 15s to £4; Rood to best, £3 10s to £3 159; med'um, £3 to £3 5s per ton (sacks in). Inferior sorts almc.«t unsaleable.
