STATE FARMS.
I The receipts and eys>enditure in connection with the Werama State Farm for the year ended March ol iast were laid on the table of the House yesterday. The expenses total £4185. The overseer's eala-ry accounted for £140; wages, meals, etc., £2038; tools and implements, £582; purchase of stock, £226; seed and plants, £206; household requisites, £111; meals to visitors, £10. The receipts are £1769. The sale of produce contributed £149, cream and milk, £834; sale of cattle, £394; pork, £286; horses, £52; and sundries, £52. A return was also submitted showing the receipts and expenditure on all experimental farms for the la6t-five years. Last year's figures were as follow : — Biekerstaffe. expenditure £2655, receipts £626; Weraroa, expenditure £4185, receipts £1769; Moumahaki, expenditure £,3653, receipts' £1433; Ruakura. expenditure £6527, receipts £1645; Waerenga, expenditure £5503, receipts £681 ; Waerenga vineyard, expenditure £897, receipts £230; Arataki, expenditure £956, receipts £7; Tauranga, expenditure £397, receipts nil. Totalled, the expenditure on all the farms amounts to £24,777, and the receipts £6394, which leaves a deficit of £18,383 for the year.
