The Mount Lyell smelting returns front October 16 to November 6 (inclusive) were «s follow:— 31.158 tons were treated, in addition to 1077 tons of purchased e». These: produced 661 tons of blister copper, containing 653 tons of copper, 46.9T068 of silver, and 15730z of gold. Tiie annual meeting of the company showed the net profits for the last halfyear to be £128,728. The liquid assets, after providing for all liabilities other th*n current debenture*, show a. aurplua of £492,667, Taking the quantity and quality of the ore reserves, the mines never appeared to better advantage than at present.
