The monthly "meeting, held on Wednesday. September 25. was attended by the Commissioner (Mi E, H. Wilmot) and Messrs 1. Kinross, J. MMikyre, D. King, and J. M'Jsean. XI was decided* to recommend the Government to- vest- section 55, block I, and section 54, block ll* Seaward Bush township, In the borough of South Invercargill as an endowment. The borough had applied for the area as on endowment. S. M'lntosh applied for payment for protection works erected on Aparime River bank, on section 6a, Ringway Settlement, and asked that five acred be deducted from the acreage of the section on account if land washed * away. — Commissioner to report. Jottn Mainland was granted grazing of sections 4? to 44, block I, Toe Toes, for one year in consideration df his keeping down weeds and rabbits. Th Glen Dhu Timber Company was granted » sawmill site ia block 11, Lindhurat Hundred, .at £1 per annum, and for a period of 'seven years. , Tt. -wiA decided, that G. R. S. JJawrie \m called on to show cause at next meeting why his lease of section 22, block VII, Waiau district, should not be forfeited for subletting without the .board's consent. The application of Win. Buchanan to pur* chase for cash 20 acres of section 4, block IX, Oteramixa Hundred, was refused. A. M'lntyie and six others applied >to have sawmill area 367 (50 acres), Forest Hill Hurdred, m*ie a settlers' bush reserve. — Refused. It was decided to offer timber on, an ares, in blocks XVII and XVIII, Jacob's Rives Hundtred, to Leggat and Campbell for £66. They wejejalsa granted timber on an are». in block XVII, Jacob's- River Hundred, for £36 10s. The Commissioner and Mr Kinross reported! that section 87, Edend&le Settlement, had been correctly described in pamphlet «s "well limed."— Adopted. Moffett Bros, applied for extension of tim<*. to cut timber on sections 9, 10,. 12 to 14* block XI, aid sections 32 and 38, block 11, Waikaw* township 1 . — Application in respect to b.ock XI refused, and section to be added to reserve of sawmill area. Twelve months were given to cut on sections 32 and 33. The Commissioner and Mr King* reported on A. R. W«llis's application for 30 acres between sections 68 and 324, block IV, Forest Hill Hundred 1 , and on the petition from. Tt G. Macdonald and 28 others asking that the land be cut up- inio small holdings. They did not think it advisable to subdivide i* at present, nor grant Mr Wallis's application for 36 ccxM- for sash. They recommended 1 that his present sawmill site be extended ta cover all buildings, and that he be offered a grazing right over the balance of the rescrra on condition- that he destroy weeds -«nd rabbiis; failing his - acceptance, tenders- to ba called fox came. — Report adopted, previous resolution rescinded, and petitioners to ba forwarded a copy of the report Bennett Bros, were offered flax on islands at the mouth of the Waiau River at £2*, six months being given to cut. An application by Joseph Wilson for grazing licenses over the area was refused. J. A, Keith and M." Carmody were granted grazing licenses over- section 28> block VI, Winton Hundred, and section 3, block VIT, respectively. It was decided to offer flax on reserve in block I. Waiara, to R, T.
