SHIPWRECK RELIEF SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Shipwreck Relief Society was held on- the 9th inst. : present — Mr C. W. Chamberlain (in the c&air), the Mayor (Mr J. Loudon), Messrs X}. B. Bullock, P. O. Bridgeman; W. A. Moore, and T. W. Whitson.
I The statement of accounts showed the ■ total receipts to be £67 12s lOd, consisting of balance in bank to June 11, £,45 19s [ lOd; donation from the Dunedin City Coun- , cil, £H> 10s ; Wellington Harbour Board, j £5 ss; Oamaru Harbour Board, £5 ss; ' and Timartt Harbour Board. £3 3s. The r sum of £1879 was shown on fixed deposit-.

The Secretary of the Wellington Harbour Board wrote stating that the Board had voted £5 5s to the society's funds, an<£ enclosed * cheque for tbe amount. — The Secretary of fie Timaru Harboar Board wrote enclosing a cheque for £3 3s. — Th* Acting Secretary of the Oamara Harbour Board wrote: enclosing £5> s*. The refusal of the Auckland Harbour Board to donate anything to tbe *meby gave rise to a- diaeossio*, in. the course of which the Chairman pointed out that Auckland received more relief from the seoiety than any other port is New.
