OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting, held in the office of the association on the Bth, was attendee! by Mr William Bavron (in the chair), «ndl Messrs Donald Reid, A. Brebner, G. Brown, W. H. Ferens, W. Downie Stewart, G. C. Proudfoot (treasurer), L. Langlands (secretary), and Dr Fulton.
A vote of thanks was passed to Dr Fulton for * paper-weight made from the foot of an albatross caught from the ship Ajax in 1846, and sent Home by Mr Robert Fulton to> relatives in England, finally finding its way, back, and now presented to the association. The secretary was instructed to obtain <th« plans for the E*rly Settlers' Hall from itfoe. architect (Mor Burnside), so that tenders could be authorised to be called for at once.
Seven new members were elected.
