Mr F. R. Frye, Mus Bac , who is acting as inspector on behalf of First Church, writes to Mr Timson as follows. — "Please thank your committee and assure them that its interests will be keenly watched by me. The work ib going on well, and the builders are anxious and determined to eend you a specimen of their very best work. Tho size of your very fine church necessitates a good organ, and the one on the way for you will be «. good example of the English cathedral tone The vox humana and orchestral oboe will be carefully voiced, so that the beautiful tone quality may be made the most, of " Dr A. U. Peace, organist to the Corporation of Liverpool, and a former tutor oi Mr Timson'e, writes to him as follows- — "I am glad to learn from your letter that your organ is now in hand, and I think you have done wisely in giving the order to Norman and Beard. This firm now takes a high position in this country, and it seems to build as many organs as all the other firms put together. The specification is very good. You will have a very fine organ " Such commenda-tions ag these are highly gratifying, and go to prove that the best interests of First Church have been considered by Mr Timson in designing and carrying out such an important work. The organ will be shipped from London in August. Mr Timson still hopes to be aLle to add the remaining stop at some future time, and co complete the instrument according to the original specification
