The sale opened at about last week's rates, but as it progressed prices hardened to the extent of about Is for wellfinished wethers. Rabbitskins — The numbers offered are increasing, and fairly large catalogues were offered on Monday. London cables this week reported a drop of Jd &o 2d per Ib, and this was responsible for an easing tendency in tha local market. Winters, however^ continued in, good demand, and sold fully up to late quotations, off-season skin-3 showing a fall from id to Id peT lb. Quotations: Prime winterr, 16d to 16JJ; early winters, 14Jd to 15Jd; autumns, lid to 14; d; s pringß, 7Jd to lid;, summers, 7d to BJd ; blacks, up to 19d per ■winters ; small raized, 4Jd o Bd. Sheepskins. — Salea were held as usual on Tuesday, when there was an average attend* ance of buyers. All coming forward is readilw sold at the following values: — Best renderecß tallow, 249 to 28s per cwt; medium to good, 19s to 245; inferior, 15s to 18s 6d; best dry caul fat, 20s to 22«; rough, 12s 6d to 19s. Grain. — Wheat: The very high prices ruling last week have prevented business beinj: done, aa millers are not prepared to buy at thpso rates. In consequence the market is somewhat easier, although holders evidently have faith that it will impiove again later.
