ADDITIONAL PARTICULARS.
AUCKLAND, June 17. After careful inquiry, the manager of tha Northern Steamship Company has come to the conclusion that only three persons wero drowned at tho wreck of the Kia Ora. The Northern Company has received information that tho Muritai has rescued the remaining survivors of the Kia Ora. After landing her passengers at Kawhia the Muritai proceeds to Onehunga witb" the rest of the crew, arriving there toil ijrht. The following members- of -the passengers and crew of the Kia Ora were taken to Kawhia to-day: — Mrs Cox, Mr and MrsKavanagh. Mr Lastridg, Me«rs Baggstrom and Lister (engineers), de Wolff (mate)', Robinson (second mate). Miss XelLar (stewardess), Messrs Peterson (chief; steward), De Kolla (cook's boy), Johnson (cabin boy), and Andrews (A.8.). Messrs Pratt, Barracloueh, Hirdson, and Lush walked to Kawhia, and Mr and Mrs M'lntosh and two children went overland. Kir.chaku, a. Maori passenger 's staying at a shearer's farm. The secretary of tho Shipwreck Relief . Society has received a telegram from tho Marine Superintendent, Auckland, as follows: — "The orew of ihe Kia Ora hay© arrived here destitute, having lost all their clothes. Suggest that you afford relief to the extent of £3 per man for clothing." Thf» secretary replied agreeing to afford the relief asked for.
