MELBOURNE, June 13. The uneasy feeling which has been created owing to the Mint robbery and the JBau«r murder is accentuated by the discovery that a. safe containing £200 had been mysteriou&ly opened at the Temporance Hall and the money removed. At the inquest on the Rev. Mr Gillett, who was run over by a motor car, a verdict of manslaughter was returned against Barklie, the chaffeur. SYDNEY, June 11. Christina Clark, ex-general secretary of the New South Wales Temperance Alliance, sued William Winn, 'a member of the Alliance, for £1000 as damages for statements reflecting on her moral character. The jury awarded £650. June 16. Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.R., during his visit to Australia, has investigated the working of the Wages Board in Victoria. He believes its introduction will prove a valuable assistance to the work of the Arbitration Court. He is much impressed with the gaol management in New South Walts. June 17. The Moeraki, which sailed for Wellington at 3.40 p.m. to-day, has on board 209 bags of "Vancouver and American mails, which were transhipped from the Manuka. 'LINSEED COMPOUND,' for Coughs and Cold*.
