The following are the xital statistics for February: — •

The following ari the figures for Dun--edin and its various suburbs: — —

The total births in the above borough.3 amounted to 555, as against 617 in January—a decrease of 112. The deaths in. February were 265 — a decrease of 5 on the number in January. Of the total deaths, males contributed 165 and females 120. One hundred -.and -twenly-six of tho deaths were of children under five y-eara of age, being 44.21 per cent, of the whole number. One hundred and ten of theee were under one year of age. There were 54 deaths of persons of 65 years and • up-•R-arcU^-three men * (77; 79, v and 80) sund three women (76, 77, and JIB) dieel at Auckland; 10 men (73, 75, 79, SO, 80, 82, 82. 84, 85, SO) and three women (74, 84, 88) at Wellington : 13 men (65, 67, 67, 68, "68, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 81) and five v. omen (67, 71, 74, 78, 88) at Christchurch ; ar.d 12 men (65, 67, "68, 69, 70, 73, 73, 77, 79. 81, 83, 94) and five women (70, 73, 73, 75) at Dunedin.
