VALUABLE DISCOVERY.
ADELAIDE, February 16. , ! What promises to be a. valuable discovery of nionazite or thorium, has been made at Kangaroo Island. The percentageof thorium present is not definitely known, but the experts say it is a high one. It is stated that the crystals found are the largest in the world. Thorium is a very tare meta.l di-covered by Berzelius in 1828 in a mineral from Esmark, situated on the Norwegian Poland of Lovon. It is an iron-grey metal and I burns with the production of much light. , It belongs to the g/oup of earth metal*. •
