HOME MISSIONARY MEETING.
The evening sitting of +he Congregational Union took the form of a home missionary meeting. The Hey. W. Day presided, and there was a very good attendance. The singing was led by the. choir of the King street Congregational Church under the conductorship of Mr C. H. Plant, and the choir also sang very acceptably the anthems "The day Thou gravest" and "The shadows of departed day." Mr D. Cooke presided at the organ. The Chairman, in introducing the three home missionaries to the meeting, referred to them as three of the noblest and most heroic 6ouls in the ministry in New Zealand. Those who knew anything of | their work by personal visitation could not 6 peak too highly of them a.n<i thjJ .work they were doinar. — (Applause.) Addresses were delivered by the Revs. G. Carr, R. Mitchell, and J. H. M'Kenzie. A£ the close, in response to a call, £35 was raised for a church and organ for To Koiti.
