WELLINGTON WING WHISPERS.

By P. Rompter.

February 15. Dear Pasquin, — Yet another week of much and varied entertainment. The renowned Besses o' th' Barn Band has .been with us through the week, opening on Monday, closing to-morrow, and giving eight performances in all. The Town Hall, big as it is, is all too small for the great volume of sound which comes from the band. There • ha 3 been much regret because the Besses oannot be heard in the open air; the reply of the management being that there is no suit^ able ground in Wellington to make an openair performance payable. Despite the high prices (6s, 3», and 2s), there have been large jttendanceß at each concert in the Town Hall. Strong counter attractions do not seem to affect the steady stream of business at the Theatre Royal. More new people join Fuller's Entertainers to-night. We are to have Valentine Vouaden, the Melbourn* Meiateraingers .(H. S. James, F. J. Golding, W. Gollmick, A. H. Vickerman), Percy Denton. Beattie Macdon»ld, besides Eileen M'Xeod. Lesso and Roberta. Lucy Lavinia, Amy Blackie, and the Biograph. We have had "Mrs Gorringe's N«cklace during the first portion of this week from the , Brongh-Flemming Company. It is a cleverly- . written, fairly well-played comedy, ending in a tragio note. Sandow exercises are recommended to Mx Flemming to bring him down .to his part in the play. Last night the company revived "The Walls of Jerioho," and tomorrow the walls will come down in favour of m, doable bill, "In Honour Bound" and "The Passport." By the Sydney boat ihia week the Elton Bioscope Company arrived from Australia for a tour oi the colony. The season is to be opened in Hia Majesty's Theatre, Courtenay putce. Messrs Andrews and Bailey are to visit us next month with Edison's New Pictures and Little Bessie Sutton.

The Charles Holloway Dramatic Company starts its season in our Opera House next Monday evening.
