A NEW ZEALAND RECORD LOWERED.
TIMARU, February 14. At the Timaru Swimming Club's carnival this afternoon F. W. Springfield, of Queensland, lowered the New Zealand record for the half mile from 13min 26sec to 12min 19sec.
