I The barque Wai-iti while leaving the wharf a Mangawhare, Kaipara. for Hoar.ga, to 'o; d timber for Melbourne, struck a bank just below the wharf. It was blowing a st'ong north-eabter at the time, .acd the efforts made to get the vessel off were without avail, and as tiie tide fel' she listed outwards and afterwards turned >ver, smasl ing the masts at the deck. The vessel was owned by Mr Turnbull, of 1 imaru, ar was insured m the Standard Insurance Co. A contract has been entered .ntc to right the v«see! and place her alongpide th -wharf.
