The following are tho principal achievements of th© Wanganui Band during the past nine years: — . 1898.— Napier : Second in test selection and! first in marching competition. 1899.— Palmerston North: Second in test selection and also in marching competition. 1900.— Wellington : Second in test selection and second in marching competition. 1901.— New Plymouth; High«Bt aggregate for music throughout contest, and won the Besson shield. 1902.— Wanganui • First in test selection, nrsff in marching competition, and won taa Besson shield. 1903.— Masterto n: Second in test selection and first in marching competition. 1904.— Timarn . First iv test eelection an<J first in marching competition. The ban™ did not compete at the contest held in Palmeralon North. , 1905.— Auckland : First in test selection, nrst in marching competition, and won tna Besson shield. . , 1906.— Hawera: Won the test se ection. tha marching competition, and the Besson shield.
