PREMATU RE EXPLOSION.
YOUNG MAN BADLY INJURED.
TEVIARU. February 1& A young man named Thomas Vincent, who was married only thce£ months ago, was badly injured by the premature explosion of a charge in a puarfy blast this afternoon. He was temping a horizon-tal bore with clay, using an. iroft -rod* while his father. Mr Alfred Vincent, the clay. Soon after the tamping began the charge exploded, blowing yotujg Yin«en4 and a block of stone about a ton in weight half a chain away. One of Vincent's legs was shattered, and his other limbs and his head were badly hurt. He was removed to the hospital. His father was cut about the scalp and face, and was braised; about the limb«. Another son, who was whiftecl round an engine shaft at the quarry two ot throe weeks ago, is recovering. « _ _ — __ _^_—____—
