BRUNNER DISASTER FUND.

COMMISSIONERS" REPORT. WELLINGTON. Februaiy 11. Mr "W. S. Short, who was commissioned by the Governor-in-Counuil to make inquiries in respect to the dispute which arose between the Brunner Disaster Advisory Board and the Public Trustee, reports.—(l) That the Public Trustee has properly and judiciously administered the Brunner disaster funds : (2) in the differences which have arisen between the Trustee and the board the trustee has acted within hi» powers and exercised reasonable discretion. The commissioner, however, thinks that from an equitable point of view further assistance should be given to Mrs Parsons, who accepted £50 in full settlement for the death of her son, but whose husband has since become enfeebled.
