Wheat : After a spell of activity the markets aie quieter, chiefly owing to larger d-eliveiies of American spring who-at. The Continent, however, is still importing largely, and the general tone is firm. A South Australian November shipment i* quoted at 31s; December and Januaiy shipments, 30s 6d ; January and February new crop, 30s 3d ; paicels of October and November shipment, 29s 6d. Freights : South Australian, 21s 3d to 22s ; Victorian — Foreign vessels 21s 6d, British 24 a 6d to 25s : Sydney (January), 21s. Flour is dull. Quotations are unchanged.
Butter : A small supply ; trade quiet. Danish, 1225 ; choicest Australian, salted, 116fc to 120b; un*alt«], 118s to 1225; Queensland. 112s to 116s; secondaries, slow and unchanged : Siberian, 104s to 108s.
