WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.
VHE CONFERENCE AT BERLIN.
A WARNING NOTE.
BERLIN, October 12.
It is SL-mi-officially stated in Berlin that negotiations at the Wireless Telegraphy Conference are satisfactorily progressing. The convention was lead a fiist time. It is understood to provide for compulsory inter-communication, by an all-wireless system with each other, and the general r>iipervibion of wireless telegraphy by an international bureau.
LONDON, October 12.
The Times warns the British delegates that they should vigilantly prevent any attempts to deprive Britain of the exceptional advantages she at present enjoys in peace and war, and advises an attitude of reserve until the views of the other Governments of the Empire are ascertained. The paper suggest* the Imperial Conference as a suitable opportunity of discussing the advisability of enforcing inter-communication by different systems within the Empire, and agiceing upon a. definite common policy towards the outside world. It adds that colonial Ministers, if consulted, are likely to resent Britain hurriedly concluding a binding and possibly a seriously-fettering agreement on a matter of the greatest Imperial consequence.

The Admiralty considers that the employment of the Marconi system gives Britain aa immense advantage over all the other users of wireless telegraphy, and hays that Britain ought not to abandon it at Germany's request. Japan, Portugal , Italy, and Fiance support Britain.
