They assume preference can only be shown to the special, products of the respective countries, and that the introduction of New Zealand oats .and potatoes duty free may .'imperil "Victorian products. A meeting of *Ke trade , decided memorialise the (Federal Government on the matter. It Us argued that tho removal of the duty on Queensland sugar entering New Zealand will ill requite Victorian producers for open competition in oats and potatoes.
(Received August 29, at 1.12 a.m.) Up to a late hour the preferential tariff Agreement with New Zealand had not been tabled.
