Segond Day — Saturday.

The Dunedin Coursing Club concluded its August meeting at the Forbury on Saturday afternoon, there being a fairly large attendance. The day was fine, but the light was rather dull. Some little time was lost in getting 1 off the various courses, the same promptitude as was observable on the first day not prevailing. The hares were again in good galloping order, but the proportion of , kills was rather greater than on Friday, i In the third round of the Ladies' Bracelet Golden Daye '(3 to 1 on) led Whisperer by a length, and after a good give-and-take course, which terminated out of sight behind the shoot, the flag, went up in favour of. Golden Days, who had not much in his favour at the end. Jack Tracy (6 to 4 on) led "Fontenoy by a good two lengths, and although he worked wide the score was in his favour when Fontenoy drove to cover. Greenwood (3 to 1 on) led up by about five lengths, and though ho did not work quite so close as Myoti the pair seemed to participate in the kill which terminated the course. May j Apple got the worst of the slip and lost j a bit of ground. Dartmoor (3 to 1 on) ' raced away with something like an eight lengths' lead, and beat the hare twice before the game gained cover. Darling, hurst (6 to 4 on) led Rosemede by three lengths, and in a hotly-disputed bout on. the game there did not seem to be much to choose between them. Darlinghurst wound up with a kill. Golden Days (2 to 1 on) and' Jack Tracy were first to meefc in the fourth round of the Ladies' Bracelet, Jack Tracy was unsighted from the slip and never joined issue with Golden Days until a turn was taken just at the escapes. Greenwood (3 to 1 on) led Darlinghursfc by about two lengths, and the . latter killed oS the first turn, the judge signalling an undecided. Dartmoor (3 to 1 on) led by three lengths, and Sweet Ale came in for a turn, and after putting in a bit of work drove to Dartmoor, who killed. In the undecided Greenwood (2 to 1 on) led Darlinghurst by barely two lengths and practically kept possession in a short course until the game escaped. Greenwood drew away from Golden Days (6 to 4 on) in tho early part of the run ■ up in the fifth round of the Ladies' BraceI let, but the latter closed up. Some give- - and-take -work took place, in which Golden Days snowed up well, but was not quite_ so clever as Greenwood, who had possession when the game got away. - Golden Days showed great pace, and put in some telling work during the course. The second, round of the Open Stake , commenced with President (5 to 1 on) meeting Lady Molly. President raced away from the slip and led Lady Molly by close on five .lengths and picked up the game off a straight drive, the course only lasting 12 seconds. From the run up Bugle Call (5 to 4 on) steadied on the game, and there was not much between him and Scottish Chief when the first turn was scored. In the subsequent business Butfle Cail worked very cleverly and allowed hia opponent to do very little when the former drove to cover. A disputed run up to the game took place between Goldband and Port Arthur (evens). The pair running away, it was difficult to say which was there fir6t. Port Arthur, however, terminated a brief course with a clever kill, and the nag went up in bis favour. Id the third round of the

Open Stake Bugle Call appeared to be momentarily unsighted, and President (2 to 1 on) was there first by about three lengths. In the subsequent work Bugle Call took charge, and practically did ali 4b» work until he killed in the ditch. In the final round of the Open Stake Bugle Gall raced away to about a good ' four lengths' lead, but steadied himself on the game. He kept possession and worked freely until Port Arthur (6 to 4 on) dashed in and killed, this being the tatter's only •core. In the second round of the" Sapling 1 Stake Legislator led Josephine {2 to 1 on) by a narrow margin, but the bitter was much cleverer on the game and had a good score in her favour when she drove to Legislator, who picked up. Josephine was a bit slow in the run up of the final of the Sapling Stake, in which she beat Diamond May (6 to 4 on), but got there first and kept possesion until she killed.
