LONDON, August 4. The Duke of Rutland is dead.

[The JIoH Noble John James Robert Manner*, K.G., G.C.8., P. 0., LL.D., D.C.L., was the second sou of the fifth Duke of Rutland and of Lady Elizabeth Howard, fifth daughter of the fifth Earl of Carlisle, and was born at Belvoir Caatle, Leicestershire, on December 13, 1818. He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he graduated M.A. in 1339. In 1841 he wa«. with Mr Gladstone, rt'turnd for Newark.
