DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. (Ltd ; report as follows:— A fail number of horses came forward for this week's sale, principally medium draughts and ordinary harness sort*. The attendance of ihe public was exceptionally good for a sale at which no very special consignments were announced; in fact, the majority of those present were actual buyers. For some unexplained reason, the consignment advertised from Gore did not come forward, and its non-appearance caused considerable disappointment amongst those in quest of horse" However, although the entry was not a heavy one, a fairly good sale resulted. The demand for active draughts is keener now than it has been for some time past, and the same remark applies to spring-va», spring-c*rt, and young, strong harness horses. We believe there is no better market in the colony at the. present time than Dunedin for the above descriptions, and it is with the greatest confidence that we urge clients having suitable horses to dispose of to try our market. We quote —Superior young draught geldings at from £45 to '£52 ; extra good do (prize-takers), £55 to £60; superior young draught mares, £55 to £65 , medium draught mares and geldings,- £30 to £40; aged do. £15 to £25; well-matched carriage pairs, £75 to £100; strong spring-van horßes, £25 to £30; milk-cart and butchers' order-cart horses, £18 to £25; Light hacks, £10 to £15; extra good hacks and harness horse, £20 to £25; weedy and aged do, £5 to £8.
