At a meeting of directors of the Axemen's Association tbe programme was adopted for tl,« December cstrrti-^al. Tie prize Tnonty allotted amounts to £307. The Axemen's Cup Handicap will again be £100 for the first prire. The directors were considering a scheme of reciprocity with the New Zealand Athletic Union, when the meeting came to an abrupt end owing to an alarm of fire in the business centre of the town.
