Ca-rruitevs vhe; hen, any age — J- Keen 1 B. J. Finnegan 2, 3, and vlic, M. kolmes vhc. There were 21 entries m the former class and 24 in the latter. Tho julge was Mr H. W. Hilton. Mr Holmes"*; winner is by Bon Blue {Puro Bon Pale), bred by Mason, Whangarei. Thf» second prize winner is Bon Blue. Mr Tafboys's bird, Lord Dillon, ifi by Lord Logan— Lady Dideot. Mr Keen s- hen w by 107— Lady Emma, and a very nice hen she is. Mr Finnegan was second and third with Santa Ciaus and Wakeful, daughter and mother— Santa Claus, by San Jose— Wakefnl; Wakeful, by Lord LoganGrannie. . In the show race from Ashburton Mr Reeves' s Gladsome, bred by owner, from Greenwood — Dtr. Gerard No. 1—123E,1 — 123E, was first. Mr Carrufcliers's Eclipse, second, was bred by owner from a Knight cock and a Richards hen. Mesers Henderson's Forbnry Lad, third, is an unrung bird, bred by his owners. He is built in the Tight type for racing — hard in feather, nice condition. The Henderson brothers for their first attempt in a race did remarkably well, and as they purpose going in for racing next season, they will be a decided acquisi« tion to the club.
