A SUCCESSFUL PROPERTY SALE.

BALMACEWAN ESTATE, MAORI HILL. Messrs Park. Reynolds, and Co. put up to auction at their rooms on Wednesday an area of about 22 acres in the recently subdivided estate of Balmacewan, Maori Hill. As a suburban property the estate offered | some special attractions to investors and those in search of residence areas, as the ; town- water supply traverses the Ba-lmaoewa.n road, and tie streets ax* being formed to,66tt width. The estate ha.» also upon it a public 1 school, a bowling green, and is- near the go)i | lints, is well supplied with, a tram service, I and ample provision is made for drainage. , The attendance at the sale was very large, and bidding from start to finish was most spirited, every allotment of the 83 offered, varying from half an acre to small building allotments, being sold at satisfactory prices. The average price ' per acre realised by the sale was £275. Prior to the sale starting the auctioneers announced that sections 7 and 8 adjoining the public school were being sold privately to the school commissioners for extra playground room for tho school children.
