ALHAMBRA THEATRE
Despite counter attractions on Saturday evening, the Alhambra Theatre was accorded a large share of patronage. Those present evidently found the entertainment most beguiling, and th-e artists in their respective " turns " behind the footlights were one and all very well received. The customary change of programme was made, and in addition the combination was strengthened by the inclusion of 3everal new artists, while the reappearance of the three Gibson Girls, after an absence of a few months, was eagerly looked for. The ladies are fortunate in enjoying such a wide popularity, and their singing and dancing were well received. Rollo and Sinclair mad* their first appearance, and their acrobatic " turn " is a unique exhibition of more than ordinary merit. Miss Nellie Leslie, a dainty scrio, who danced after the manner of her kind, and Mr Wallace Pollard, a tenor, who contributed " Dorcen " most acceptably, were the other new arrivals, and their appearance on the beards of the Alhambra will assist in strengthening the present combine tion materially. Mr Garden Wilson appeared in a number of new and entertaining impersonations. Mr Wilson's ability in this direction is unquestionable, and he has endeared himself to the hearts of patrons long ere this. Miss I/ucy Lavmis md iliaa Xjbv
Blackie appeared in new songs, and repeated their respective successes of the previous week, while Mi«s Pear! He'nirich's numbers zn-efe with due appreciation* Mr Sam Wilson gav<-~ a diverting •' turn," and M>r Carl Coilieor, as end man, provoked a considerable measure of mirth. Mr Percy Lodge appeared in several' new female impersonations. An enjoyable" feature of the entertainment was the new bioscopic pictures. The musical arrangements were in the capable hands of !Mr Fred Stokes"s orchestra.
