TWO COUNTRY L.F. IN TOWN IN SHOW WEEK.

j Dear Dot - — As we -have just returned from a__ visit to the- city we think it only right to write and give the less fortunate mexn- ■ bers of our band an idea how we spent . show weak We arrived in town on Wed-r-esday afternoon, and after satisfying our r.ppetites we -took the trstn to Anderson's , ' Pay, where we stayed with frienda during our short liolilay in town. We -went into town next aftomoon to sac the show, and, of , course, the D.L.F. Bay was our greatest at- ; traction. Wa think it very good, and we are | sure thai Brenda. and the others who worked I so hard for it should be very well pleased j with it. In ths evening we went to the : debate, and the papers read were very good, | especially thoso on the winning rido. Next afternoon we assembled along with the other L.F. at* ihe Witness Office, and had our I photos taken. After that trying ordeal was I over, Mr Editor kindly took us up io lie i Coffee Palace for afternoon tea. Quite a gay i lima was epent there, every ore seemed so 1 cheery. Some of the 'D.L.F. sang songs which -were very laughable. From lie Coffee Palace we went back again to the office, and had a good ! ook all over. Tho rr«n went to no end of trouble to let as see all the works and explain everything about the machinery 1 to us. We also hud cur names printed. "We went to our friends* place, had tea, and prepared for the social. Of it we will say- little, except that we very much enjoyed the evening'^ entertainment, j as there will be grand descriptions of it in i print long before this appears. Emrly on | Saturdsjy afternoon we want again to the show, and had a lost look at the bay. Wa , then went to the" carnival, and enjoyed watch- ' ing the little girls dancing, which was 'the* chief entertainment. - After tea «c strolled clown to the station to see the train off, and were nearly crashed to pieces in the crowd for oirr trouble. We did not stay out late ' that night, as we wished to make up* for ihe sleep we hod lost on the previous night. On Sunday afternoon we met some D.L.F. friends at the Po&t Office, and with them went io the Gardens, where we spent a pleasant time. We had te* with our chums, and in the evening we went for a walk up town, and saw quit* a 3«rge number of our band, who, like- ourselves, most likely, rere out for ft tfalk for the good of their health. Next morning we caught the 8.25 train for the south, and reached our destination shortly before noon. A drive home and a good tea ended our most pleasant holiday. We went specially to town to see the bay and attend the social, and we may say we were very well pleased with the way our town friends entertained us country ones. All the D.L.F. we met were very sociable indeed. Now, iear Dot, we have far exceeded that 450-word restriction, but it is very, very seldom we write, so please forgive as, and don't condense this. With kindest regards to Olive. Lulu, Neriaao, Cornish, and yourself, — Tours Jruly, PEONY ROSE & LADY BENUSSL [The 459- word limit is. of course, suspended on such an. occasion as this, Peony Rose and Lady Benns_*i. I am indeed gled you had such a good time in .own. I think everyone enjoyed this most memorable D.L.F. gathering, and it will give' us all something to think of for many a long day. — DOT.I
