THE BAY.
The buy at first sight was, I must confess, a little Ch-ippainting. -When one gradually took in all the details, however, the result was more pleasing, and in rxrost cases caused the observer to give a second glance, and, giving a second "lance, stop and ferret out all tho many little knick-knacks and curios which he saw detailed on tha neat little
catalogue ■which was issued in connection with the bay. The bay itself was some 20ft long by sft deep, the front consisting of three arches artistically draped with red and yellow muslin. In the background was all the fancy work so generously contributed by our girl members, in the centre <vas a floral design by Dunedin members, whilst in tHe foreground were all the curios, mca bones, etc., tbe whole being set off by a deep red backgiouid. Altogether the effect was most pleasing.
