TEACHERS' SUPERANNUATION ACT.
WELLINGTON, May 4. Regulations under the Teachers' Sunerannuatio.i. Act arp gazetted. All meetings of the board are to be held in Wellington on the third Tuesday in January. April. July, and October. The rhief tlerk of the Education Department will bo the clerk of the board. Members of the board will not receive any remuneration for their services, but will be entitled to the Ufual travelling allowances. The contributions of every member who olects to join the fund will beein on the first day of the month in which he elects to join. In the case cf a member who joins under the provisions of section 5 of the act (which provides that teachers appointed after the passing of the act must join the fund), his contributions will begin from the date that his salary begins. Every contributor whose nay is temporarily stopped owing to ill-health may — {a) contribute to the fund monthly so long as his pay is stopped, at one-third of the rate otherwise payable, and thereafter at the ordinary rate ; or (b) cease to contribute to the fir.id while his pay is stopped, and thereafter contribute by way of deduction from pay an additional amount equal to one-third of his ordinary contribution for a period equal 1o that during which his pay was stopped. The Secretary for Education has to furnish the board with a report upon the cas« of every contributor who signifies his intention of retiring and claiminy on the fund, and he must also advise the board with respect to contributors who retire " medically \infit." or be-fore pension age, or who are dismissed. Further, it Is his duty to report to the board as to claims arising upon the death of a contributor. It is also the duty of t.he Education Board, when a contributor becomes a claimant, to furnish the particulars as to salary, and so on, required by the board.
