AGGRESSIVE GERMANY.
BERLIN, April 17. The Tageblatt states that Italy had better not forget that " We Germans, come what may, «ie resolved to take the lead in the European Continent, or at least in Central Europe." Italy, adds the paper, owes her union and independence mainly to German policy. April 18. The Berlin Post, commenting on Italy's weathercock policy at the Algeciras Conference, states that if Italy prefers being a satellite to France and England to being a member of the Triple Alliance she must buy her experience. Other papers declare that after Italy's attitude at" the Algeciras Conference it is impossible to doubt her disloyalty. i The Pan-Germans are now agitating for j interference with the Anglo-French agreement in regard to spheres of influence in Siam. ALGIERS, April 17. Three German explorers, with 50 Moorish horsemen escorting them, made an extensive tour of the coast on the western side of the Algerian frontier. April 17. ! • It is stated at Singapore that a German firm has acquired a commercial coaling station at Pulalant Island, to the southeast of Dutch Borneo. I
