CHRISTCHURCH GRAIN AND PRODUCE 1 REPORT. i (Lyttelton Times, 21st inst.) I Very little business lias been done since the holidays, but the few transactions in wheat j and oats which are reported have been at i very firm rates. It is questioned whether j the rates which have been current for feed i oats will be maintained after the departure j of the Essex, which is loading a large cargo. i The bulk of the Lake County bailey is reported to have been sold at 4s 3d f.o.b. Lake j steamer. The sample is said to iiavo been very fine. Potatoes are dearer, £9 being offered freely \ for sound parcels, which are few and far be- \ iwesn. Prices have a further haidcning tendency, s j OnioU3 are selling slowly st SA. Many locally- : grown lines are of doubtful keeping quality. ' and sales bsing pressed, while there is 110 ship- j ping demand, tends to further depress the j market.
