A highly significant pronouncement was " made by> the chairman of the London Road Car Company at- the shareholders' meeting recently." He' declared that "the horsedrawn car can have no chance against the jwHter running motor omnibus," and .thus he. plainly intimated that it is but a questions of time for the -horse vehicle to be - entjr-elv' discarded by his company. The other -big concerns are also displaying great activity, and the London Power .Omnibus Company has just opened at Cricklewood trhat is claimed to be the largest garage in the world. The car house is 25Cft long by _80ft witte, an<J has a single span roof. Tnis tuilding will hold no less than 150 motor omnibuses, and jutside the garage prxwkion has .been made en a large scale for the, cleaning and overhauling of the cars. .In the matter of filling the petrol tanke — no 'small- task' wfcore a great number of ins oa-rs is concerned — special pumps and piping have been Ja:<l down, with the result thit twelve cars can be filled with petrol within a space of five minutes.
