ROMANCE OF A FORTUNE.
A fortune of £880,000 is awaiting the rightful hjirs of the late Duchess Felicitas Bevilacqua do la Masa, widow of the Duke do la Masa. one ot Garibaldi's generals, who died without issue. The story of the deceased lady reada like a romance. A foundling, she was adopted by a childless couple at Valdagno named Bevilacqua, in whose house she was a general servant until her beauty attracted the attention of tKe Duke, who afterwards married her, at
Venice, in 1848: Much excitement roigns at Valdagno, whore several fan.ihes bearing the name of Bevilacqua, mostly belonging to the working cla&bes, arc still living. Though a marriage with the Duke was know to have taken place, no certificate in proper" iegal form could be found, and so the claims of the distant relatives must for tho present remain in ab?yance. Renewed searches are now Leing made, says the Secolo, of Milan, in the parish registers in Venice to discover the all-important missing document.
