CENTRAL MISSION.

At the Central Mission service in tho Garrison Hall special prayer was offered afc all the services for the sufferers in Sam Francisco. The Rev. W. A. Sinclair, speaking at the evening service, said that he was sure they mourned with thofee who mourned' in this great disaster. Many had said this was a Divine judgment on the wickedness of the city. He, however, would not dare to pronounce with regard to that. Certain* it was that there was a message for every city in that awful calamity, and a. call to the pursuit of the highest and best. Above the babel of voices of business and pleasure should be heard the voice of God directing the attention, to things which are permanent! and eternal. He was sure the congregation! would willingly assist in any effort to raise funds for the assistance of the sufferers. HANOVER STREET BAPTIST CHURCH., At Hanover Street Baptist Church the following resolution was submitted by Rev. W. Hay at the forenoon service, and carried; by the congregation standing in solemn, silence—" That this congregation has been profoundly impressed with the appalling and ' overwhelming nature of the awful catastrophe in the City of San Francisco and contiguous country, and expresses its deepest sympathy with the many sufferers, commending them in earnest prayer to the providence and guidance of Almighty God, and to individual effort to fulfil such obligation of practical assistance as this colony may accept,"
