j fl?£oii Otts Own Ccbeesfoxdent.) • GORE, April 5. The Gore sheep-dog trials were held yesterday and to-day. The weather was fne and there were big- entries. Yesterday the Maiden (prizes £4, £3, £2, and £1) was won by P. Trotter's {Hyde) Help, 28 2-3 points, with J. Edwards's Scott, 28 l-3pte, second: T. D. M'Leod's Black, 27pts, third; and J. Byers's Clyde, 25 2-3pts, fourth. The I/ong-pull Class was commenced and continued to-day. The prizes were. £10, £7, £3, and £1. The winner was R. Kerr's (Gore) May, 32 l-3pts; J. Y. M'lntyre"s Lass, 52 l-6pts, second ; R. Trotter's Help, Sigpts, third: A. Scott's Wyllie, 30 l-3pts. fourth. There were 21 competitors from all over Otago and Southland, and some fin© wo-.-k wa-s shown The Huntaway and Slew Class (prizes £5, £3, £2. and £1) resulted thus : — R. Pollock's (Palmersfcon) Clyde. 33 2-3ptfi, 1; R. Trotters Glen. 31 2-3pts, 2; R. Trotter's Swamp, 29 2-3pw>. 3 ; and T. M'Leod's Don, 29 l-3pts, 4. The Consolation Head, Pull, and Yard (prizes £4. £2, £1. and £1) was won by R. Pollock's Pearl, 32pts, with J. B. Purdue's Jack, SOots, second ; G. P. Johnston'icßlack. 29 l-3pte, third; and R. Polloek'* Bonnie. 23 l-3pts,- fourth. Nineteen dogs competed.
