I It is reported in Johannesburg that Lord Selborne has informed Loid Elgin that he will lesign if the Government yields to Dr Smut's representations and decides against equal electoral districts in the Transvaal with the view of giving the Boer minority a preponderating influence in the Legislative Chamber. The Transvaal minerals output for 1905 was valued at £22,688,675, including diamonds (£92,278). The wages and salaries paid amounted to £8,996,121, includi injj £5,660,493 paid to whites.
