RIO JANEIRO. Januaiy 23. The B'.nzihan ironclad Aquidaband's powder magazine blew up at midnight on Sunday at Jacjil Pagna while escorting a Minisieiial paity aboard the ciuiser Bar-

T rosoon on a tour of inspection of 6ites for a naval yard. The Aquidaband sank in three minutes. It is reported that 3DO perished. One officer was saved. The drowned include four rear-admirals and a number of naval officers and Government officials who were guests on the Aquidaband.
