LONDON, January 9. Copper: Spot, £79 10s; three months, £79 ss. Tiu: Spot, £16<; three morths, £164 7s 6d. Lead, £17 10s. Silver, 2s 6d per oz. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,950,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,315,000 quarters. The Atlantic shipments are 268,000 quarters, or>d the Pacific 30,000 quarters. Stocks and shares: Australian and Sew Zealand Mortgage Company's 45 per cent, debentures, £87; Dalgety and Co.'s shares, £101. January 10. Lead, £17 ss. Wheat: 9000 quarters of Victorian, January shipment, sold at 31s 9d. At the tallow «ales 459 casts were offered, and 306 sold. Lower qualities advanced from 3d to 6d. January 11. Wheat: 17,000 quarters of Victorian January shipment sold at 31s 6d. The American visible wheat supply is 71,634,000 bushels. January 12. Wheat: The markets are inactive, but steady. Cargoes are dull. Thirteen thousand quarters of New South Wales January shipment sold at 31s 7^d. South Australian January and February shipments are offered at 31s 7d and 31s 9d; Victorian loading, 31s 9d and 325. Flour: Quiet and unaltered. Butter: There is slightly less inquiry. Colonial is practically unchanged. English, 123& 6d to 1255. Cheese: Firm. New Zealand, 63s to January 14. Copper: Spot, £79 10s; three months, £78 10s. Tin: Spot, £167 15s; three months, £168 ss. Lead: £16 17s. The imports are 21.344 tons, including 3677 tons of Australian, and the exports 4146 tons. Silver, 2s 6Jd per ounce. Fencing wire, £7 2s 6d. Wheat: Forty-three thousand quarters of Victorian and South Australian January shipment sold at 31s 6d to 31s lOid, and a cargo by the City of Benares at 31s 4Jd. •Linseed oil, £25. Hides: A few sold at late rates. Basils advanced £d. First Wellington. £15 10s to £19s ss. Leather unchanged, anet small business. Rabbits. Dull. Large New Zealands, 17s; Sydneys. 14s 6d to 15s; Melbourne, 13s 6d to 14s 6d. Frozen Meat —Sheep : Canterbury medium, 4Jd; other sorts and lamb and beef unchanged. River Plate sheep unchanged. Beef: Fores, 2Ad; hinds, 2gd.
