EGG-LAYING COMPETITIONS. CHRISTCHURCH, November 3.
• At the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club the Management Committee reported that Earnest , Seott'j3 Brown Leghorns 'in the Lincoln College egg-laying competition had won the monthly (October) prize with 136 eggs ; J. H. Shaw s IJrown Leghorn's" the second three months prize, -with 380; and H. Hawke's Silver Wyandottes the six months' prize, with 728; J. Mann's White Wyandottes taking second money with 616. November 6. The statement for the 27th week of the N.Z. Utility Poultry Club's egg-laying competition at Lincoln College shows that oVo esres were laid during the week, making a total to date of 17,116, an average of 450 »er hen. The following stand highest for the week:— H. Hawke, silver Wyandottes, 35; J. H. Shaw, brown Leghorns, 31; J5. Scott, brown Leghorns, 31 ; Mrs Mills, white SLeghorns, 30; A. M. Price, buff Orpingtons, 29; -A. Gapes, black Langshans, 29 ; J. W. Halliday, Minorcas, 29. The' highest totals to .- date are :— W. Hawke's silver Wyandottes, 755; J. Mann, white Wyandottes, 637; J. H. Shaw (Riccarton)', brown "Leghorns, 589; A. M. Price, buff Orpingtons, SB&; R. B. M. Evans, - silver "Wyandottes, 677; Mrs Studholme, Anconas, 560; A. H.

Cox, buff Orpingtons, 500. BLENHEIM, November 4. The total for the twenty -seventh week of the New Zealand egg-laying competition .is 2309. The grand aggregate reaches 48,369. The weekly average per pen is 23.09. The highest layings for the week are: — Marlborough A. and P. Association's white Leghorns, 35; Mick Shaw's ■white Leghorns (Blenheim), 33; James Penny's black Orpingtons (Blenheim), 32; Theo. West's white Wyandottes (Feilding). 32. The order in the grand aggregate runs as follows: — H.. Leger's white Wyandottes (Levin), 779; -Brookes' s white Leghorns (South Australia). 721; Marlborough A. and P. Association's white Leghorns, 668; Mick Shaw's white JLeghorns (Blenheim), 665; W. Hockey's brown Leghorns (Nelson), 657; Jonathan Hodson's white Leghorns. (-Blenheim), 653. The winners of prizes- for. October are: — A. and P. Association's white Leghorns tie with 157 each. Then come R. Allan's white Leghorns (Blenheim), 144; L.
