Providence Provides

. A . PANACEA for every PAIN The Case of Mr. N, EDWARDS.

(by a reporter).

There is a delight in acting the park ok Providence or of good Santa Claus. It gives full play to the best form jti the love of power that is so often found in man, power to befriend, power to raise, power to console ; and when such instances as tho t llowing are brought to light, through the kindness of Mr. Nicholas Edwards, of Foxstreet, South Dunedin, it shows that ther« are unselfish members of the community who help mankind whenever they can. Taking his memory back to three years ago r ~ MY. Edwards said :—

"It h aboub that time since I used a medicine called Clements Tonic for the purpose of 'putting my blood into order for one thing; and for restoring my digestion for another."

" What indications were there that your blood required purifying?" asked oui interviewer. , _ " Wellj a number of sores' broke out over my arms,- and no measures that I adopted could take them away, with the solitary exception of Clements Tonic." No other medicine had the same effecb on my blood as that did, and nothing that I had ever taken before was half so beneficial'to my digestion ;as Clements Tonic. For about eight months I had been ailing from extreme languor, i feeling as if it was too much trouble to do | even the lightest of work, and nob caring to fgo out auywhere to enjoy myself. A dull sense of depre sion seemed to have got me fairly under, and when I ,had"been suffering from indigestion a little time I was scarcely ever free from headaches, and I found that my rest was greatly interfered -with. I could go to bed feeling dreadfully tired out, bub for all that it K vras ihore than I could do to get to sleep -when I wanted^ aid through having only a few hours' slumber each nignfc my vitality became quite exhausted. Every ■ morning I gofilp feeling weary and dejected, and with an awfully bitter taste in my mouth. My. sighb was. not as good as ii^ ought W have been either, for . somei times there appeared to be C quite » mist before me, ,and my eyes felt as if they had swelled during r the ' night. It Was a very -wretched experience "I had, take my word, for when my appetite died away it was surprising how quickly my ' strength went, and then I wss more disinclined for work than ever. Worse than • all, I was subjected to no small amount of pain, which I am positive was caused through my food not digesting, as it was always soon after eating that they began. { My stomach used to get full of wind and i make me feel a burden to myself j and my chesfc got such a heavy sensation in it that it gave me trouble to get my breath sometimes. Under my shoulder blades, too, th« pains wero very severe, and I had such nasty aches in my loins that I never thought of taking a wa k if it could be possibly avoided," "To be like that was almost as bad as being laid up." " Pretty well, and if it had not been for Clements Tonic I might have been, because a man cannot keep to his work very long in such a wretched state of health as I was in., However, I am glad to say that my days of sickness from those complaints were soonf over, under the wonderfully effectivequalities of Clementa Tonic* and it will be a source of pleasure to me to help those suffering in the same manner by letting them know what that medicine can do. It. cleansed and enriched my blood -to begin with'i and I got a remarkably good appetite almost, atonce. Using Clements Tonic seemed to awaken m new interest in life within me, for tha despondent feelings left, .and when renewed energy came I could work with a cheerful Bpiiit. There is no doubt about Clements Tonic being the best thing going for the digestive organs, as it fixed mine up in no time, and when the pains and aches had all gone I left off taking that splendid remedy., because I had no further need for it."

"If you don't mind I'll report your cure ? " " I have no objection. I have lived in Dmiedin for twenty-seven years, eighteen of which have been spent in this house, so you may gues9 I am well-known, and I would not speak as I have in regard tc Clements Tonic unless I could honestly, recommend it. You can publish these facts in any way you choose."

STATUTORY DECLARATION. I Nicholas Edwarbs, of Fox -street, South Duii*. din', in the ■ "olony of New Zealand, do solemnly and bid erely declare t.hab I h.-ue carefully read tho a.nnuxod document, consisting of two folios, and consecutively numbered from one to two, ami • thftb it contfcins and is a true and faithful account of my illness and cure by Clements Tonic, and also contains my full permission to puoliah in any way my statements — which I gi\ a voluntarily, without receiving any pajment; and 1 make this solemn declaration conscientiously believ* ing the *ame to be true, and by virtue of tha provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of Utri Zealand, intituled "The Justices of Peace Act, 1882."
