Dear Dot, — The usual weekly meeting of the D.L.F. Literary and Debating Club was held on Tuesday evening) September 30, when there were present— the president (Harry, in the chair), B. Watch, Go Hon, T. D. A., C. C. M.. and 34 members. Being the last Tuesday of tlie month it was an open meeting, and. we spent an enjoyable evening. The following contributed papers: — Nil Desperandium, "A Holiday " ; Anthea, "An Eventful Drive " ; Paparoa, "Home."; Black. Watch, "-Frankness " ; Toltfahawk, " The Latest Ghost Story " ; Scribbler, " Gold and Gold-mining " ;' Roby, " Dreamland " ; Cornish, " Farewell " ; Anthea, " Girlhood " ; Emerald, " Different Kinds of Club Members " ; L. Dundas, " The Ideal Wife" (Max'O'Rell); Bush Boy, "A Ramble in the Bush " ; Madame Meiba 111, " How Diamonds Worry Ladies and Girls " ; Go Hon, " Queer Characters I Have Met " ; S.R.H.C, " Jessica.
